Joel

Teacher

Joel is a proud South Sea Islander and Taribelang Bunda man from the Bundaberg region. He has previously worked as a youth worker at education centres and community support services. Through his previous experience working with disengaged youth, Joel experienced how valuable teachers can be to young people in the community, which inspired him to choose teaching as a career. After completing a Bachelor Degree in Primary Education, Joel began teaching in Hervey Bay before making the move to My Independent School. He enjoys working with young people and watching them succeed. Joel values an environment where students feel safe and cared for, which is what influenced him to undertake a teaching role at My Independent School.
